Taylor’s tale of her time aboard Anthem of The Sea!
Trying to accommodate all family members when planning a family vacation can be overwhelming. The kids want a trip full of exciting activities and entertainment, while the grandparents just want some R&R. The guys want their time to explore, while the ladies want time in the sun with a good book. No matter what you are looking for in a vacation, we all can agree on one thing, we want the feeling of safety and comfort.
On Saturday, February 6, one of Railey Mountain Lake Vacations’ reservationists, Taylor Baker, and ten of her family members set sail with Royal Caribbean Anthem of The Sea cruise line to Nassau Bahamas. The family anticipated a 7-day luxurious cruise, with stops at Port Canaveral, FL and the Bahamas. Unfortunately, due to an extreme winter storm, the captain made the decision to cancel the trip after two days, and head back to port.
Many folks remember the winter of ‘96 as the year a severe nor’easter paralyzed the East Coast, dumping up to four feet of fresh powder. For Tom and Christine Morse, that year holds a different, albiet not completely unrelated, meaning. Tom and Christine were making memories in a vacation rental home, as they had for many years, with their cherished family and friends.
“Tom was across the street skiing with the older kids and I was home with all the little ones, when Nancy Railey came knocking at the door,” explains Christine. Nancy was there to check on the number of people staying at the home.
Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Leigh Miller and there has never been a day when I have not called Garrett County home. My husband and I are knee-deep in raising our two children here in the mountains and for more than 13 years, I have worked alongside friends and neighbors at Railey Mountain Lake Vacations to serve homeowners and guests to our beautiful area.
