This popular state park boasts one mile of shoreline along Deep Creek Lake where visitors can take part in fishing, swimming, and launch their boat. The sandy beach is perfect for families who want to swim and the picnic area makes it easy to spend all day there. Deep Creek Lake State Park also has many hiking and biking trails ranging in difficulty throughout the mountain. Bring the whole crew over to spend the day here!

Located right on the main part of Deep Creek Lake, you can easily stop by for a day to play and explore in the area. The day-use area is popular to many locals and visitors and is a great way to enjoy your vacation.

Day-Use Area:

Open from 8am to sunset, you can enjoy the waterfront and designated picnic areas. There is a park fee to use the day-use area, which is paid upon entering. There are two guarded swimming beaches with perfect views of the main body of the lake, and kayak and paddleboard rentals right on the beach. You'll also find a beach shower house and changing station, picnic tables and grills, fishing access, personal boat launch for canoes, kayaks, paddleboards, etc., and three playgrounds.

Hiking & Biking:

There are miles of trails expanding throughout the park, each varying in length and difficulty. All of the trails here are great for hikingbiking, and even snowshoeing! Trail maps can be found at the headquarters office or at the Discovery Center.

Camping:

The Meadow Mountain campground at Deep Creek Lake State Park is open from April 15th to December 15th. The campground has 86 basic sites and 26 electric sites with three bathhouses, two mini cabins, and one yurt. Pets are only allowed in designated loops. Other highlights include freshwater fill-up, dump station, free boat trailer parking, free access to the day-use area and boat launch, and overnight dock slip use.

Discovery Center:

The Discovery Center is great for adults and children of all ages to learn about the area around Deep Creek Lake. Here you can view different types of flora, fauna, and historical details that make Deep Creek Lake what it is today. There is even an aviary where you can see live birds of prey!

Pets:

Specific loops within the Meadow Mountain campground are pet friendly. The day-use area and lake (except for sandy portion of swimming beach area) is only open to pets from Labor Day to Memorial Day weekend.

Boat Launch:

The boat launch area is open 24 hours a day, weather permitting. Overnight slip use at the boat launch is available only to campers staying at the park and is on a first come, first serve basis.

Directions:

From Rt. 219, travel to the Glendale Road intersection (Stoplight). Turn left onto Glendale Road. Continue on Glendale Road for one mile, crossing over the Glendale Bridge. Immediately after crossing the Glendale Bridge, turn left onto State Park Road. Continue on State Park Road for one mile until you see the information sign for the state park facilities.
