DESCRIPTION:
Carmel Cove is not to be missed! This spectacular ten-bedroom lodging house operated for 25 years as a popular bed and breakfast resort, making it uniquely suited to welcoming guests and providing a spectacular experience for all. With an expansive design built for comfort, this property boasts all master suites, each with their own full bathroom, and many with large private terraces with outdoor seating and whirlpool baths. You’ll be delighted to find that each guest is assured of a private and luxurious stay!

With large rooms and top-of-the-line vacation amenities, this property is perfect for family gatherings or corporate retreats. The lavish oversized kitchen is fully equipped with high-end appliances and everything else you could need to entertain family and friends, whip up the perfect family-style meal, or perfect your baking skills! With each TV equipped with streaming abilities, you can ensure that everyone is entertained whether they are in their room relaxing at the end of the day or gathering together in the common room for an epic movie night!

The outdoor space, lake access, and outdoor amenities at Carmel Cove work together to create an experience unlike any other at the lake! To help make the most of your time in Deep Creek, fishing equipment, tennis equipment, and sleds are all available for your enjoyment, free of charge! As an added bonus, the large parking lot at Carmel Cove provides plenty of space for parking vehicles and maneuvering around in an easy, safe, and efficient manner: a unique feature for a lodging house!!

Located on a private, wooded 2 acres, Carmel Cove maintains a prime setting along a central lake location. Once outside, a lovely ten-minute walk will take you down a wooded trail to the lake with lakeside hangout area and large swimming platform with ladder. The quiet, peaceful, "no-wake" cove makes it an ideal spot for swimming, kayaking or paddle boarding. Just a two minute drive will take you to Deep Creek Lake State Park's day-use area with it's beautiful sand swimming beach, kayak and paddle board rentals, bathrooms, small craft launch, playgrounds and picnic areas.

When it is time to get out and explore the lake, you’ll find yourself located just three minutes away from area shopping, dining, and recreational activities, as well as a local grocery store and movie theater. Wisp Resort, our local four-season adventure park, is just ten minutes away. With an incredible location, a host of on-site amenities, and fabulous interior comforts, there is no experience on the lake quite like Carmel Cove!

We have a large group, 6 families, in the past deciding who slept where was a problem because no one really wants to share a bathroom or bedroom. Having all the rooms relatively equal with their own full bathroom worked out great.

Solid Stay

We used this house as a retreat spot for an executive group. Overall, it was a good stay and we would be open to returning again in the future. We booked pretty early, however, and were unaware of some expected renovations that mostly impacted the kitchen (both positively and negatively - there was a second oven as advertised but it was not in use and was hours one fridge as opposed to the two we saw in the original listing). We had an issue with one of the bathroom toilets that took a solid 24 hours to fix, which was fine but left one guest to listen to a toilet that was running all night. Other than these minor things, the stay went well. A 10am departure time is pretty early, especially for a short stay and the cleaning crew was literally watching us finish packing so they could get in to start. We would have loved such attention when we called with the toilet concern, but c’est la vie.

We had a full house here with 9 couples and was great. It rained the whole but the house was large enough that we were not crammed at all. We are thinking of doing this annually just because of how comfortable we all were and the great time we had.

Carmel Cove was a perfect location for our family reunion gathering. We had multiple generations and accessibility issues so a house of this size is an excellent find to accommodate that. The layout gave us plenty of room to spread out indoors and outdoors while still allowing gathering spaces for all to enjoy at once. Our family group would consider this property again for future rental.

Carmel Cove is a good facility for a large group. Having a bathroom in each room is a plus. Some are small but quite adequate. The great room is well equipped for group activities. We enjoyed several evenings by the fire pit. The commercial-grade kitchen is well-equipped. The hot tub was well maintained and checked by the staff during the week. We learned that the hot tub is drained and re-filled between each client. This converted monastery has a great history that is provided in a photo journal in the entry way. The facility does provide accessibility for those with mobility issues.

Great Location for Offsite Business Retreats

This is a great venue for offsite business meetings with colleagues. Ten of us came here for team building and meetings over the course of two days. Each person was able to have their own private room and bathroom to use during the course of the stay. The accommodations were great! The kitchen was well stocked with supplies. There were plenty of towels to use. The hot tub was wonderful. There was plenty of space to meet, collaborate and spend time with each other. We played games in the game room, sat around the fire pit, cooked together in the kitchen and ate together on the deck. We also rented a pontoon boat from a local boat rental company. Deep Creek is a nice area that I would visit again. I would definitely recommend Carmel Cove as a great place to stay for large gatherings.

I've been coming to Deep creek homes for work retreats for years but this is by far my favorite. This was great for a meeting of my fiancee and my family. It provided everything everyone needed including an amazingly well-stocked kitchen! many of the things we thought we would need we didn't even have to open because it was already there. Perfect for a large group!

A large group of my college friends make it a point to get together every November. This house kept all 16 of us as comfortable as possible! The commercial kitchen was absolutely fantastic for our large meals, and the dining room had comfortable seating and space to eat! We loved the pool table in the living room, and you just can't beat the number of bedrooms or the fact that they each have their own bathroom! The home had plenty of outdoor space for nice weather. And somehow they manage to keep the entire house very warm in cold weather! We usually choose a different house every year so that we can explore the area more and more, but we've already decided that we will stay at this house every year that it is available! Although there was no one in our group in a wheelchair, we sincerely appreciated that there was full access to the house for someone who is.

This property is everything it says it is. There is nothing better then walking into a rental that is completely up to speed with the website description. Our family was at the lake for our beloved mom's funeral and celebration of life. We had family flying in from Florida, Utah, Seattle, and California. Upon arrival each couple was able to relax in their own room with ensuite bathroom. Nothing better! We could not imagine finding such a dream rental with ten bedrooms and ten bathrooms. The beds and bedding were wonderful. Pillows were nice and there were 4 sets of bath/hand towels and in each room.The only thing that we forgot was hand soap for each bathroom. Easy fix. The common areas were absolutely fantastic. There was plenty of comfy cozy seating everywhere with the red gas fireplace and big screen tv for our families picture tribute to mom. There was a wine frig and mini frig for our drinks and snacks. Pool table was wonderful and walking outside onto all of the decks off of the bedrooms, kitchen and family room was so nice. The commercial kitchen was our big draw to this property and it surely did not disappoint. How grand it is to walk into a kitchen that is completely equipped with all of the dishwear, cookwear, serving pieces and not to mention all of the needed spices, and best of all the best commercial cooking appliances for the many gourmet cooks in our family. We were so very pleased and couldn't believe how well this house flows and functions. We used every shower in the mornings and not one couple complained of having hot water issues. We were so impressed at how private and comfortable the rooms felt. The laundry room was so fun to use. My nephew was ironing his shirt for church while others were folding their laundry and socializing. Even the laundry room was impressive. The equipment shed surprised us yet again when we realized that there were tennis rackets! That was fantastic to strike up some family tennis matches while the elders watched from the dining room. If there was one thing that I would improve on this property, it would be a bigger, better hot tub. Otherwise this property is perfection! Carmel Cove will definitely be on our radar screen for future events.

I loved the uniqueness and charm of this property. I also appreciated the convenience of having so many bathrooms, plenty of parking, lots of outdoor seating for meals, and a sizeable kitchen. We enjoyed walking down to the dock every day to play in the water and relaxing around the backyard campfire every night.

This is a great place for big crowds with very spacious kitchen, gaming and dining rooms. Our group of 20 loved it through out the stay and had a blast. Outside deck space and entrances to lower level, kitchen and upper level bedrooms are very easy - which is a peace of mind especially with kids. All rooms are very clean and well maintained. Couple of areas where it could be improved are, Kitchen gas cooktop burners are not that effective and taking long time to complete cooking. Bed rooms 2, 3 and 4 have rest rooms without a sink within the bed room. Overall, lots of space, lots of fun.

We rented this house for a long weekend getaway the size and bedroom count influenced us and delivered. The kitchen was great for a large group also. The description does not mention the handicap ramp or accessibility to the house which was a welcomed surprise. Some of the mattresses are due for replacement but otherwise they're very positive stay

Fantastic home for a large families. We had 10 boys in the house and you never knew it. Kitchen was amazing and the ice maker was an added bonus. Love this house so much!

The house was the perfect spot for our refreshing retreat. Having our own master suite was wonderful. The setting was perfect and the owners made sure everything was in place and ready when we arrived. Rooms were clean, kitchen fully stocked, welcome back with detailed instructions...all of it made this place wonderful!

A unique, charming, secluded property in Swanton, Md perfect for a large group retreat or family gatherings. The rich history of the property is echoed throughout in the furnishings, photography and books provided to the guest to enjoy. The great room is spacious, well appointed, with ample seating and a well used billiards table. There are ten well appointed bedrooms each with private bathrooms, all with shower, some with tubs as well. The kitchen, equipment with commercial grade appliances, is outfitted with everything you would need to prepare and serve meals for a large group. In addition, the two stainless steel outdoor grills are brand new and a pleasure to cook on. The deck, picnic tables, outdoor seating and jacuzzi allow the guests to enjoy dining and socializing outdoors. The community shared dock, a significant hiking distance from the property, allows access to the lake, while the fire pit with Adirondack chairs affords the group to enjoy the outdoors at night. The guest shed is outfitted with outdoor gear (water tubes, fishing poles, portable chairs, etc). Finally the downstairs utility area houses two sets of washer/driers and supplied detergent. A very comfortable, well appointed property.
