"Every August a group of close friends get together with their families and stay at Home Sweet Home. This is something we all look forward to every year. It’s a must that we stop at the Candyland Store for the kids and they look forward to a back yard game of football every year. The best talks are around the evening fire. The kids play and the adults enjoy some adult time. Our kids would pick the three day weekend at Deep Creek every year over a week at the beach. Home Sweet Home has a lot of perks for all our families. It has everything you need for the weekend and since we come every year we don’t have to learn where everything is. The owners are wonderful and we wouldn’t stay anywhere else. We love it at Deep Creek. So many memories have been made and we look forward to many more."

My family believes in this mantra we love to call the "Lake Escape" and during this unprecedented times I am longing to see the water at Deep Creek and sit in a gorgeous home with my family. We have been to Deep Creek lake over a dozen times and stayed at many of the Railey vacation homes - Four Seasons Paradise was one of our all time favorites (our family rented that home THREE times over the course of my childhood-teenage years). That photo was taken during our weekend stay at Four Seasons, the first house we rented as a family.
During the time my family went out on my cousins` boat- my Mom took the photo of her children admiring the water and enjoying the lake vibes. I am the oldest and can speak for the fact that this photo is near and dear to my mothers` heart. As we grow older and continue to use the lake as a meeting point for our growing families I am reminded that the beauty and charm that DCL has will boost your mood, mindset and make all your worries "escape" for the time being. I am yearning for the "lake escape" now more than ever. I love looking out at the water and remembering the gazebo at Four Seasons Paradise while enjoying the mindfulness and appreciating the simplicity - has me hoping for times when we can enjoy family and friends at one of my favorite places- Deep Creek Lake. We have celebrated some major milestones together the lake from babies to birthdays. Looking back at that particular weekend everyone was happy and healthy- I am beyond grateful for the moments and memories shared at DCL and hopeful to go back again soon!
