    Ski Area homes and units are within a 1mi driving distance to Wisp Resort Ticket Window and/or Lift Access. Ski Area homes may require you to drive a very short distance and/or cross a road by foot. Some homes under Lake Front, Lake Access or Lake Area may also be considered a Ski Area property.

The location was great, access to the lake was good, the house is roomy, but needs some TLC. We loved the daily visits from a small herd of young deer, who were very tame. The huge table was a great asset that allowed us all to eat together. Overall, we had a fantastic visit. Just wish it would have been as clean when we got there, as when we left. The pots and pans had to be scrubbed before I would use them.

The location of the house was lovely. It was spacious and accommodated us well. However, the carpets were filthy and stained and many high touch areas like doors and windows were very dirty so we cleaned them. Most of the lamps lacked bulbs or switch knobs. The porches were covered in webs, dirty and bugs so we cleaned them. The dock ladder was broken off and tossed to the side. A rusted metal pipe sticking up in the swimming area beside the dock cut the foot of one of our party. The gas grill has only three of four burners working and those don’t work well. 80% of the window screens were out or torn. Many screens were bent or duct taped as “ repaired”. We reseated all the screens we could and found a few adjustable screens around the house and put them in. What could have been a perfect location for our family’s week together was lacking due to these maintenance issues. The sofa bed in the loft it duct taped together. We made the best of our time and this lovely area but we won’t recommend Railey or this home to anyone.

It is unacceptable that these aspects did not meet our usual standards of cleanliness and upkeep. We will address these matters promptly with our housekeeping team to ensure that future guests do not face similar inconveniences. Additionally, we are deeply sorry for any safety hazards posed by the broken dock ladder and rusted metal pipe in the swimming area. Your safety is our top priority, and we appreciate you bringing this to our attention so we can rectify it immediately. We also regret that several amenities were not functioning properly during your stay—specifically concerning lamps without bulbs or switch knobs as well as issues with window screens and gas grill burners. Our maintenance team and property management will conduct a thorough inspection of these items to ensure they are fully operational for future guests. It is disheartening to learn that these issues overshadowed what could have been a perfect family getaway in such a beautiful area. We value your feedback immensely as it helps us improve our services. While we understand your decision not to recommend Railey or this home based on your experience, we hope you might consider giving us another chance in the future once these concerns have been addressed. We loved staying here. It is one of the better houses great location nice layout. Went on a hot summer week and the house still was cool and comfortable. Porch rocking chairs were nice! We will stay again.

This home could use some TLC. Downstairs had a strong odor of mildew and screens in the windows need to be replaced. With a home that has no AC having window screens that are in poor condition, made it hard to have certain windows open. The hot tub was in a state of disrepair. Both the jets and lights were non-functional, greatly diminishing the enjoyment typically associated with a hot tub. Appears the cabinets in kitchen were tilted forward and microwave. Could use some new kitchen utensils. Exhaust fans did not work in 2 of the 3 bathrooms which I would expect will be replaced for the next renter. Home had a strong odor downstairs of mildew/musty smell. The small refrigerator was not working (was told by maintenance that it leaked and the rug was wet and not to use it). This is why the rating of the quality of home was poor. Should these things be updated, I would definitely give it a better rating. The home was clean and it was a great location. Can dock 2 boats easily. Love the fact that it was dog friendly as well.

Had a great stay over Labor Day weekend. It was exactly as described. The large yard, fire pit, and private dock were perfect for our group to spend the weekend outside with our dogs. Although we wish there were more basic amenities included we were informed the house wouldn’t include these things in the listing so we knew what to expect. Would definitely stay again!

Our family had a wonderful time at Adventure Bound! The location is perfect - right on the lake, a half mile from WISP, and only a five minute ride to the grocery, liquor, and other essential stores. We especially loved hanging out in the rockers on the porch facing the lake. We’ve rented Adventure Bound several times and the recent improvements made have been dramatic!

Our main concern is that the downstairs bedroom with the bunk beds had a horrible smell in it. My grandchildren would not even sleep in it. Everything else was fine, though.

House is in a good location, but the furnishings need updating and the house itself is run down. Needs a good overhaul with drywall work and paint. Dehumidifier should be on full time in lower level. Overall, this property is overpriced.

The house had ample space for our stay. It was nice relaxing in the hot tub with the view of the lake. The swing by the lake was just as relaxing with a cup of coffee in hand.

Our family group was looking forward to spending a relaxing week at this “premier property “ in front of a cozy fire. What a disappointment! The fireplace was unusable, it spewed smoke when we tried it. And yes, the flue was open. Furniture is shabby, beds marginally comfortable. Good heat and hot water, though. This property is suitable for groups of 20-somethings who want to ski and party, not for family groups.

Could use to be fixed up. Paint and update inside and fix outside things I listed. We liked the size of the house and the lay out. With some updates we would think about staying there again.

Adventure Bound was a perfect home for our Thanksgiving vacation. There was plenty of room for us and our 5 adult children. The kitchen was large enough for us and was well stocked with all of the cooking utensils. One of our daughters spent lots of time meditating out back on the swing. The driveway was easy to navigate with ample parking for all three of our cars. We enjoyed family time at the dining room table, living room and down in the basement. We would definitely stay at Adventure Bound again.

Not sure if we would rent the house again. We did like that there were no steps from the front of the house into the main level. The yard was much steeper to get down to the water. The steps leading to the water (railroad ties) were falling apart and seemed dangerous for older family members

We were actually vacationing at the Outer Banks this week and were forced to evacuate due to Hurricane Dorian. As we were driving home, we were trying to come up with somewhere else to finish out the week. We called your office very close to the end of the business day and talked to Michelle Bender. She not only found us a place to stay at the last minute but went over-and-above to make sure everything was ready for our arrival. We would rent again based on her excellent customer service!

Adventure Bound is a great house to stay in. It is in a really nice part of the lake, close to Wisp and the grocery store. Access to the lake is easy. Nice dock too.

Adventure bound was lovely place. They had plenty of wood stocked for the outside and inside fireplaces. Great view and very quite. Checking in was a breeze, it was all done online and just had stop by the office to get our keys. If you like to fish Adventure Bounds dock is the only place you need to go. 10 fish were caught in 3 days.

Upon arriving I was impressed by the young lady who greeted me at the front desk. The dog treats presented to me for our dog was quite a surprise. The house (as reported to management) needed some attention. The maintenance man sent to investigate was very polite and attentive to our needs. We hope that the items have been addressed so that the next tenant can have a trouble free stay. The refund was appreciated.

On short notice (had vacation canceled due to Hurricane Florence) we were able to find Adventure Bound! It was a great house, plenty of room, excellent lake view from the decks, easy in and out of lake for the dogs as well. We appreciated some special accommodations from the owners and Railey. The whole experience was great and we will definitely consider returning to Adventure Bound!!
