DESCRIPTION:
Get ready to gather in comfort at this beautiful lakefront home! Finn McCool’s has a prime location along Lake Shore Dr., so you are never far from the action, no matter the season. In the summer, hop on the water and get ready to explore the area by boat or enjoy days spent on land by traveling just 10 mins to the heart of the lake area. Spend your afternoons relaxing and fishing on the west-facing dock, soaking in the afternoon and evening sun and enjoying the deep water perfect for swimming. Prefer to wade instead of swim? The shallow shoreline is perfect for the little kiddos. Make sure to also be on the lookout for various roaming wildlife including two eagles nesting in nearby trees. Enjoy s’mores and stories around the campfire tucked in the private, wooded backyard perfect for extra privacy from the few neighbors in the area. On those, oh so perfect summer evenings, relax on the expansive deck or play a game of corn hole. In the winter, pack up and head to Wisp for a day on the slopes or the state parks for cross country skiing or snowshoeing. The level driveway is perfect to ensure that the snow won’t hold you back from getting to the slopes whenever you want! Wind the day out in the bubbles of the hot tub and let the warm water soothe your sore muscles. The home was spacious and able to accommodate large families which is a plus. We appreciated being able to bring our dogs and we loved the beautiful lakefront location. But it seems that the owner has placed little care in simple fixes and updates to the 50-year-old home that would not be budget busters. The basement bedroom was near impossible to sleep in (the little heater did not provide warmth and the dehumidifier was so crazy loud you could not possibly sleep). Parts of the decking and steps down to the lake were definite safety hazards. It just seemed the house was not well maintained from season to season which is necessary with a home of that age. Simple Dollar Store purchases like replacing rusted shower shelves, providing a cutting board, etc would help guests feel more welcomed. Same with the broken chairs on the pier. If owners updated the property to address some of the aging concerns we'd definitely stay there again.

The house was perfect for our family. We thoroughly enjoyed hanging out on the dock. The large deck was perfect for us. We also enjoyed the hot tub and fire pit for smores.

Very nice place

The house was large and everyone had plenty of room to spread out. The private dock was nice, and the overlook patio was a family favorite, especially for the dogs. The kitchen was well equipped with cookware. The TV’s didn’t work in the two bedrooms. They were missing cords it looked like. The big wooden cornhole boards on the back porch were really nice but didn't have bags, and we couldn’t find any at the local Walmart. So we weren’t able to use them. The hot tub was in good shape and clean and serviced. The shower heads in the bathrooms are a little rough and spray in every direction and scream and whistle as you shower, but there were plenty of bath towels provided. The porches, fireplaces and the view were wonderful! On our last day a black bear visited us in the back yard. The grill on the back porch was in great shape. Our favorite takeout place was the Greene Turtle. Very relaxing vacation overall. We will most definitely be back!

The cleanliness was better than we had expected. The kitchen had many more useful items (trays, silverware, Tupperware, etc) than expected.

Had another wonderful stay at my favorite place on the lake. Very quiet with wonderful views, but close to everything. While watching the birds at the bird feeder, I saw an eagle land in the big pine tree by the shore, could not tell if it was Finn or Molly! And that evening while enjoying a cold beverage in the hot tub, I watched as 2 deer wandered around by the fire pit. Will be back.

Everything described and more! Easily accommodated entire extended family. Tons of parking. Close to everything we needed. Very well stocked kitchen. Three full bathrooms. Private full bedroom in lower level with it's own outside access. Path to water easy walk with lights at night. Forest across the street. So peaceful and quiet day or night. Very large deck with ample seating to eat outside. Beautiful views from every back window and door!

Great for Large Groups, Especially Families!

We loved this property. It was exactly as advertised. There was plenty of room for the 8 of us. The kitchen was well appointed and the adults enjoyed the hot tub. Lake access was wonderful and we appreciated our four legged friends were welcome. The best part was the separate seating area/living room away from the bedrooms - kids in the morning didn’t disturb sleeping parents! The basement was pretty cold, but the space heater and door kept closed helped. Our only complaint was the check in and check out time. I understand that a large house requires more cleaning, but we did feel a bit jipped checking in at 4:00pm and then having to leave at 10:00am.

Wonderful family get together. Very nice having a separate great room and living room. Kitchen had everything you might need. Even got to see a pair of bald eagles land in a tree by the water in front of the house!
