Who doesn’t love a little bit of sunshine and snow! Located lakefront in Deep Creek Village, this three-level unit is close to a wide variety of activities. In winter enjoy the slopes, shopping, and keeping warm on the cozy sectional in the living room, and in the summer spend your days golfing, hiking, or down by the water! The best of both worlds. Take in the views no matter the season from the main level deck or the ​lower-level patio. Stuck with a rainy day? There are plenty of games to help keep you entertained in the living room! Upstairs, you will find a bedroom suite with a spacious bathroom and a bed that is ohhh so cozy. Enjoy a little extra peace and quiet for some reading time in the sitting room inside the suite. Throughout the home the wood details from the floors to the furniture paired with the thoughtful decor give off a cozy lake cabin feel. On the lower level is another bedroom with private access to the patio and a separate bathroom with a jetted tub - perfect after a day on the slopes or on the water! No matter what your plans are at Deep Creek Lake, Sunshine and Snowflakes provides modern comfort to your dream vacation.

Clean & Great location

We came with our 4 children for a quick snowboarding getaway. Mostly clean property (though there were 2-3 very large spider webs which we suspect was related to the house not being used recently…since all the clocks were still on daylight savings time.) No big deal for us. Phenomenal location though we HIGHLY recommend that you take the rental company’s advice of driving AWD or getting snow tires even if the weather report doesn’t call for snow. We ignored it (😬) since there was 0% of precipitation when we left and ended up getting snow most of the trip. On the last day, they had 3 inches drop and we nearly weren’t able to get our minivan up the hill to leave. The main floor of the house was lovely, the mattresses were all comfortable and the upstairs shower had great water pressure. Our issues with this home and why we likely will not stay here again are: the lack of blinds in the skylights of the upstairs bedroom, the pullout couch of the sitting room in the upstairs bedroom can’t be used without damaging the wall, the inconsistency of the temperature in the house (very hot in the upstairs bedroom and freezing in the basement bedroom) and the lack of a bathroom on the main floor. Additionally, the bunk bed was not the sturdiest. Ultimately, we had a great vacation and the property wasn’t bad at all but it wasn’t right for the needs of our family.

The house was super clean, and was nicely decorated. The kitchen is new and bright, the family room has a stone fireplace floor to ceiling windows, and was bright and cheerful, we loved it! There were board games, and some toys in the downstairs room, my kids loved playing with them and we had a great evening one rainy night of family board games and a movie. I would 100% stay here again. The only thing I will mention is if you are looking for a lake front view there isn’t really a view of the lake because it’s obstructed by trees. I don’t hold that against this place at all because upon talking to locals, many of the houses view is obstructed by trees because they have strict laws to keep the natural environment intact , so obviously, it’s a good thing they’re not cutting down trees. I think in the winter or fall though you’d have a gorgeous view.

As soon as we arrived we couldn’t help but feel like this place was so cozy and welcoming. It’s right across the street from Wisp and is right on the lake with great fishing off the pier and across the street in the pond at wisp. Our son caught his first ever fish and loved every minute of it! The couch at the place is super comfortable (can someone please let me know where it is from!?) and the place is surprisingly spacious with multiple levels to spread out as a family with a cozy living room to come together. We will definitely be coming back to stay again. It was easy to get to everything we needed for the long weekend. Thank you for a great stay!

A quiet sanctuary for a work-week getaway!

I'm glad I chose Sunshine and Snowflakes for my recent "work-athon". I needed somewhere peaceful and comfortable and this location didn't disappoint. It seemed like a palace for this one-person show. I enjoyed moving between the outdoor space downstairs and upstairs depending on whether I wanted more privacy or a view of the lake. The master bedroom was luxurious, featuring a king bed and skylights. If you're wondering about reliable wifi, this location delivers.

Then property is situated perfectly for quick access to Wisp for skiing and tubing. It was our family's first time skiing and the location couldn't have been better for easy access to and from the slopes. Our kid's ages are spread between teen and young, so it made it so convenient to meet everyone's needs. There were games and movies for our downtime too!

Convenient to slopes

Minimally supplied townhouse but clean and updated. No snow removal was done prior to arrival so could not access or use the balcony and lower level patio. Very close to slopes, which was the primary goal. BYO shovel and firewood.

We appreciate your understanding of this policy and are happy to know that this did not negatively impact your stay. While we do plow the driveways and entryways for each rental, we do not perform snow removal on balconies or patios unless requested. In the future, please know that you can always give us a call if you need assistance with snow removal. Shovels and salt should be provided at your rental and I have shared your comments with our maintenance team to ensure these supplies are available at Sunshine and Whiski. We loved staying here. We stayed for a week, we did work and school from here and activities each afternoon. The internet was fast with no issues. The unit is very, very nice. It is clean and tastefully decorated. It was the perfect size for our family. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen well stocked. When we were there, there were not many people in the complex and it was quiet. It is right across from Wisp - you can walk over. And, it is well situated for hiking in a variety of locations and other activities. We would definitely go back.
