Great for large family stays

The place was wonderful and as described- but a few things i can mention is, the sauna was not functional, at all. The fence on the upper level deck had a few posts missing which were dangerous with small children and pets around. Other than that, very Eleanor stay

This accommodation was perfect for an extended family time together. The house was very spacious, we could all eat together in the dining room for dinners (15 of us), the kitchen was well stocked with dishes/silverware/cookware (appreciated the three refrigerators and two dishwashers too), loved having a variety of activities for the grandkids to enjoy (basketball court, pool table, hot tub, sports on tv, space for playing indoor games, and we all enjoyed the water being so close (short walk down a dirt/rock path). We either brought or rented kayaks, paddleboard, tubes, pontoon boat with tube connected. Jumping off the dock was fun for the kids too. A well-stocked Shop and Save store in McHenry was convenient too. The beds were comfortable. The many bathrooms allowed privacy for the different family units who came together. We had the best week ever.

Perfect for a family gathering when various members from different states can come together to spend the week. Love that almost every bedroom has a private bathroom. The large dining room table meant we could enjoy dinners together. The location to the water was great, and the hot tub was a bonus for everyone.

The house was perfect for our large group. The kids enjoyed having several rooms and a separate tv area on the basement floor, while adults had 3 primary suites to use on the middle and top floor. It was spacious and well equipped (3 refrigerator/frreezers, washer/dryer, lots of cookware, sauna which we didn’t use, but was available) and just a short drive from Wisp. We loved the view of the lake from the back of the house, and enjoyed the clean hot tub. Plenty of parking for 4 large SUVs without having to move cars. Check in and check out was easy. We would happily rent again!

This is the 3rd time we have stayed here and have found it enjoyable each time. The rooms are spacious and the amenities shown are accurate This time we encountered a problem with the oven (this was a little daunting as we always take most of our food) but a call to Railey had a service repair man sent within the hour.he needed to order a part but showed us what we could do to keep the temperature up in the meantime.

This was the perfect home and setting for a 4 generation family vacation. There was plenty of indoor and outdoor space for gathering. We had 9 adults, a toddler and dogs and always felt like we had adequate privacy. The refrigerator space, kitchen amenities and grills on the deck made it easy for us to prepare large family meals. We were so busy playing games, making s'mores and paddle boarding that we barely left the beautiful Waterfront Chateau. We hope to book again next year.

Home is a great size and multiple king suites were wonderful for our family group which included mainly adult couples. Kitchen was well stocked with quality pots/pans/appliances. The multiple fridges/freezers (3 of each) were a welcome benefit, though one of the freezers was not closing properly and couldn’t be used. There are no ice makers or water filters, so come prepared with plenty of ice/water. Kitchen is spacious and dual dishwashers are welcome for a large group. Beds and furniture were comfortable, and there was plenty of seating for our group of 10. The volleyball court was also a nice addition and sports equipment was provided. Lake access is a bit of a hike down a fairly steep incline, so be aware if anyone in your groups has mobility challenges. Once you get there, there is a lovely area with a platform and fire pit, which we would have enjoyed had more of our party been able to make the walk. A few minor repairs (blinds, door locks, shower doors/fixtures) would really push this property to the top of my recommendation list. Overall, it’s a lovely property with a great layout for large groups and nice amenities.

Loved the house. Saw a mama bear and cubs amble by. The lake was beutiful and perfect for a late afternoon swim off the docks after hiking. Highly recommend.

What an amazing house!! We had 8 grandchildren, 6 adults and 2 seniors. Everyone loved our time there!!! We swam in the lake, fished off the dock, played basketball, played pool, had a bake off competition (the house had all the utensils and appliances we needed)!! The kids played in the woods between the house and the lake and saw lots of wild life. It is a great property! We watched movies in the evening, played games, roasted marshmallows, BBQ’d on the grill and slept great on the comfy beds! We only left the house to go get groceries. If we had a problem with the house, Railey Vacations came out right away. Everyone had a blast and we hope to return again!! Highly recommend this comfortable vacation home!

Let’s start with the good! The house is huge, with lots of space, more kitchen implements than we expected, stunning views, and ideal access to the lake and its own floating dock. There’s climate control on each level, huge beds, and the bathrooms were great. It’s also clear the materials and furniture are high quality, even if they’ve been well-loved. Mornings on the upper deck are unmatched, and evenings around the firepit in the backyard are dreamy. There are boardgames, DVDs, and VHS (blast from the past!) for rainy days—90s kids will be delighted to see some familiar titles. The fireplaces and SmartTVs in every room are a great touch. Keep an eye out for deer, chipmunks, tons of birds and waterfowl, and the friendly groundhog who lives under the lower deck!The downsides: none of the screen doors have locks (no leaving the glass doors open on pleasant nights), and many of the doors were difficult to open or re-close (though I’ll chalk that up in part to humidity and swelling wood). The house wasn’t as clean as we’d like, though the sheets were fresh and the bathrooms were nice; there was a footprint high on a wall in the basement, several of the duvets in the basement rooms were uncomfortably damp or visibly unclean, and some of the kitchen items had obviously not been cleaned after use by previous renters or cleaners. The light and ceiling fan switches all face different directions and aren’t always labeled, plus the lights on the lower deck were either very faint or completely blown out depending on the lamp. Additionally, one of the trash cans up at the top of the drive had a broken latch and was torn into by a neighbor from the nearby bear colony when we first arrived. Heads up to future renters—bring extra bug spray! That’s not a ding against the house, though, just life in the woods.All in all, it was a great experience, and I’d definitely come back to the area, but the entire house could do with a little more TLC (especially the doors, lights, screens, and kitchen). That said, you literally can’t beat the location.

This large home was perfect for a last minute ski weekend for a group of families. Plenty of space and great that there were six king beds/suites plus a bunk room! Nicely equiped kitchen and plenty to do, with pool table, games and puzzles.

We always enjoy staying here and this time was no exception. Just a few comments - both dishwashers leaked-the ice maker on the second refrigator should be hooked up and lastly the check out time should be 11am. It is difficult for a house of this size with 15 people to all get it together by 10am. All said our stay was still very pleasant.

My family and another stayed at the Waterfront Chateau in late-March/early-April of 2021. It was glorious. The house is a 1-minute walk to the lake, where we put in our kayaks with ease, even at a time when the docks could not yet be in the water. There's a small deck on a hill immediately overlooking the lake where we had coffee in the morning and where we waited with our kids as each waited their turn in the boats. The water itself was calm and there was a slight breeze that helped to keep us cool as we paddled. The house itself was large and very well kept. We cooked meals for twelve (five adults and seven kids) easily in the large oven and cooktop. One night, we ordered take-and-bake pizzas from Brenda's Pizzeria, which we highly recommend. The two dishwashers in the kitchen made clean-up quick and easy. There are also plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms for everyone as well as games and videos to keep everyone occupied when it was rainy (and even snowing!) outside. When we had questions or issues in the house, the management company was responsive and quick to address our concerns. Though a selfish part of me wants to leave a lackluster review in the hopes that fewer people will book this property, I must in good conscience give the Waterfront Chateau the highest rating and I strongly recommend this house to anyone who is considering it.

We had a lovely time. Called about the shower door and someone came out right away, the driveway was cleaned right after the snow and we didn't miss any ski time! Great ski conditions, enjoyed the hot tub at the end of the day. Even the day we couldn't get ski passes was fun to play games and enjoy the view. Thanks!

Very clean, comfortable and spacious home away from home. The massive kitchen table allowed all our friends to gather for meals and the large kitchen was plenty of space for our group! The beds were comfortable which is a huge priority of mine when booking a vacation home. I also loved the proximity to the ski slopes and we really enjoyed our days at Wisp. I can’t wait to return to this place and see the gorgeous lake views in the summer!

I've been to this house many times throughout the years and wouldn't stay anyone else in the Deep Creek area. First, this location cannot be beat!! Wisp is within minutes and you can easily access the backside of the mountain from this house, helping you skip the lines. And, when you return from the mountain, you can warm up by one of the fireplaces, in the sauna, or in the hot tub. In the summer, we've enjoyed being able to spend the day right on the lake on the house's private dock. The large decks and outside firepit also provide other spaces to enjoy the weather year-round. Second, the house is enormous and, despite having up to 18 people, it has always felt like more than enough space. Always enough bathrooms and multiple dishwashers help, too! Looking forward to my next trip :)

Went last weekend with a small group to escape for the weekend and go skiing. The house was amazing and more than enough room for 10 people (you could easily get away with four or five families here). Had an idyllic ski weekend with fires, hot toddies in the hot tub and some games of pool. The top of Wisp Mountain is 5 minutes away and you can ski right on the mountain. Snowed all weekend and the driveway was plowed at least once a day and the town keeps the roads in good shape.

We stayed there recently for a ski weekend at Wisp and were thrilled with the accommodations! Very spacious house with tons of room for larger families or a group outing with friends. Located very close to Wisp, this house was perfect for skiing during the day and relaxing by the fireplace or playing games at night. Lots of options to keep the kids entertained. I’ve stayed at this house several times during the summer and loved it for a getaway weekend on the lake and it was just as awesome for a weekend on the slopes!

We loved having enough rooms to sleep comfortably and enough bathrooms to accommodate all of us! Huge open spaces with giant windows and beautiful views made the house amazing! The hot tub, large common areas, and sauna were definitely a plus! This house is on top of the mountain and has a very steep driveway, so it was a little difficult to get out with the icy roads on our final day, but we were warned this would be a possibility, so it was not unexpected, but it is also not to be taken lightly!

The home was spacious, beds were comfortable. I listed some areas in need of improvement. The outdoor seating in shambles. More care to the cleanliness of the floor air duct in kitchen, laundry area. The docks were in need of repair, there is a large tree that looks like it could fall into docks, that needs to be removed.

We'd like to let you know that we did inspect for outdoor seating in a severe state of disrepair but did not find anything at the home fitting that description, I do apologize if you felt it was not in suitable condition during your stay however. The air ducts were given a thorough cleaning and will continue to be well maintained! We'll also take a look at the dock for any necessary repairs but please know the buffer strip is state owned and there may be limitations as to how we address the tree you've mentioned. We hope you'll visit us in Deep Creek again soon! We have rented this unit for the past several years, and have noticed a negative slippage in the maintenance.  Bird's nests above outdoor speakers, heavy moss on the roof, mildew on outside decks, and many webs and insect nests.

Lovely large house with plenty of room to spread out inside or outside. Kitchen is well equipped (though the addition of a toaster oven would be welcome) with two big refrigerators and lots of cookware. Dock was great, just fine for our 21 foot boat. Two cautions--look for the Railey sign with the house name (no street number marks the driveway) and boat trailer parking is suitable only for small, light weight trailers at most.

Great house with a great layout. Plenty of room for everyone and lots of space to hang out. The walk to the lake wasn't too steep or full of steps, and the private dock was perfect for swimming from (although the fish weren't biting). We had a cool and rainy week, making the hot tub and sauna much appreciated. We'd go back in a heartbeat!

This house is just as described. Very roomy and perfectly clean. Our family of 20 had a great time. There was plenty of room, so no one felt crowded. It has a very nice dock, which we used for the pontoon we rented from Silver Tree Marine. The kitchen is stocked with any kind of pan or utensil you could need, and a very nice double sized refrigerator, plus a second refrigerator in the pantry area. The customer service and maintenance staff are great. We had an issue with one of the ceiling fan lights not working. They came out within an hour, and had it fixed the next day, after the part came in. We were very happy with our entire experience at this house.

We have stayed at Waterfront Chateau with our friends on many occasions for ski weekends at Wisp and always have a great time. You are close to the top of the mountain and the house is comfortable and nicely furnished. We will certainly continue to stay there.
